Terms of use
Draft – will be legally reviewed before publication in the App Store and on Google Play.
1. Provider and scope
Shaboo is provided by Leon Benedict Bansbach & Vivienne Pezic GbR, Birkheckenstr. 76A, 70599 Stuttgart, Germany, represented by its partners Leon Benedict Bansbach and Vivienne Pezic (contact: hallo@shaboo.app). These terms apply to the use of the Shaboo app and all its features.
2. What Shaboo does
Shaboo helps you keep track of your own income and expenses and split shared costs fairly. All calculations are based solely on your entries and those of project members. Shaboo does not make payments, does not hold money and does not replace tax, legal or financial advice. We give no guarantee that the results are correct.
3. Your account
You need an account and must be at least 16 years old. Keep your credentials secret and use two-factor sign-in if possible. Only enter data you are entitled to, and only enter other people's data with their consent.
4. Costs, ads and Premium
Shaboo's basic features are free and may have limits (e.g. number of projects and people). Free accounts are funded by ads (see the privacy policy, section “Advertising”). For paid offers (Premium, e.g. ad-free and without limits), price, term and cancellation are shown clearly before purchase; a purchase only happens with your explicit confirmation via the respective app store, whose terms then also apply.
5. Shared projects
All members of a project see its data (items, payments, shares). Others only see as much of your income as your privacy level allows. Only invite people you want to share costs with. If a project is deleted or you leave it, your previous shares remain as entries in your household book.
6. Fair use
Do not use Shaboo for unlawful purposes, to harass others, or to bypass the app's security or query it automatically. We may block an account in case of serious or repeated violations.
7. Availability and changes to the app
We aim for constant availability but cannot guarantee it (e.g. maintenance, outages at service providers). We keep developing Shaboo and may change features where this is reasonable for you.
8. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health and under the Product Liability Act. In case of slight negligence we are only liable for breaches of essential obligations (obligations whose fulfilment makes use possible in the first place and on which you may rely), limited to the typical, foreseeable damage. We are not liable for decisions you make based on the calculations.
9. Termination and deletion
You can delete your account in the app at any time (Settings → Account & data); your data will be deleted. We may terminate with four weeks' notice, or without notice for good cause.
10. Changes to these terms, law
If these terms change significantly, we will ask for your consent again in the app. German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods; mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected.
